Your Future Ghost is our current pick for top synth pop/rock duo of 2024 thanks to their new single ‘I’m Like Money’.

Entertainment industry veterans Kate Voegele and Michael Grubbs have finally joined forces to make music as this spectacular two-piece, over a decade after meeting on the set of popular series One Tree Hill. This new partnership has the potential to take both creators to even greater heights:

“…our voices blended in a way that inspired us both to write in this unique hemisphere of sound neither of us has really explored before in our solo projects.”  Kate Voegele

‘I’m Like Money’ is a perfect showcase of what these two greats can achieve together. Soothing, country-rock guitar riffs anchor the quintessentially synth-pop musical overtones. The song itself is an exuberant celebration of self-love in the face of a world populated by too many who feel entitled to others without thinking of them as people with depth and feelings.

“…it’s a song about celebrating who you are and knowing you’re a badass, but also being sick of people trying to get a piece of you or tell you who to be. I’ve experienced this so often as a woman in the music and entertainment industry…but I think this is something everyone experiences in some sense.”  Kate Voegele

Accompanying the single is a fantastic music video that reinforces the message of the lyrics to perfection. Full of cinematic wit, and allowing Voegele and Grubbs to flex their acting muscles, this really is the perfect accompaniment.

‘I’m Like Money’ is available to watch and stream right now, but make sure you keep an eye out for Your Future Ghost’s upcoming album as well.
