Party Nails has released her dreamy new single, ‘Same Old Song’.
Party Nails is the musical project of Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter-producer Elana Carroll. There’s a chance you may have heard her before without realising – her music has been featured in shows like Girls, The L Word: Generation Q, Nancy Drew, and Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.
Her third album, Pillow Talk, is set to be released early next year, with this being the album’s opening track. Pillow Talk will be Carroll’s first full-length release since her 2020 album, You Don’t Have To Go Home But You Can’t Stay Here.
Carroll was inspired to write the song while going through a tough time during lockdown:
“This was a period of lockdown where my psyche was interacting with my idea of ‘home’ a lot.”
Carroll’s dreamy vocals immediately hook you in, backed up by a lush, textured guitar sound, as she makes peace with her younger self. That she can take such a specific, personal moment and turn it into a track that feels so relatable, is a testament to her songwriting.
