On 17th October, we’re hosting Bloody Good Time – a fundraising event in support of Bloody Good Period – at Doña , a female-owned venue and bar in North London.
Joining us on stage:
Melina Blanco
Melina Blanco is an indie pop singer/songwriter from Buenos Aires, Argentina based in London. Raised on The Beatles and inspired by female artists such as Phoebe Bridgers and Lorde, she uses songwriting to untangle her life experiences and emotions.
Hypsoline
Friends since the awkward years of secondary school, Hypsoline have been muddling through life together, bringing their victories, hardships and heartbreaks to musical fruition since September 2019. Their influences include bands such as Wolf Alice, Warpaint, Savages and HAIM.
Shelley Byron
If you found somebody’s secret diary, would you read it? Not someone you know; maybe you come across it on the bus, or you stand up after a film and it’s just there, tucked into a seat at the end of the cinema row. Could you really resist being drawn into someone else’s dark, strange, vivid reality?
To listen to Shelley Byron is to experience all of that – only with dancing, and without the troubling aspect of a moral dilemma. Beneath the shimmering surface of lingering vocal melodies, Shelley Byron plumb the deep and murky truths of passion, envy, thwarted desire and the life that follows a fairy-tale ending.
The Stripped Back Twats (a Twat Union stripped back set)
All girl punk band from South East London known for their wild, immersive gigs and their trademark provocative humour. Twat Union don’t shy away from topics like period sex, thigh chafe, urinary tracts, and people always assuming you’re the singer of the band because you’re are women.
