London-based singer-songwriter Lexie Carroll released her latest EP you look lovely when you’re living. Lexie’s teenage years were put on pause due to the pandemic plus dealing with mental health issues and anorexia. Now, Lexie is back to living.

you look lovely when you’re living is the bittersweet collage of Lexie’s mind: her fragmented teen years, love, and loss.

“I’ve felt like I’m experiencing so much, so strongly, for the first time.”

Opening track ‘Sunflood’ is a delicate yet bold start, setting the tone for this personal EP. Listeners are finding comfort with this track recently on TikTok, sharing tales of their own struggles with eating disorders. The title of the EP is within a lyric in this ‘Sunflood’. There’s quiet strength with the simple acknowledgment of ‘you look lovely when you’re living’.

Alongside releasing you look lovely when you’re living, Lexie also shared a music video for focus track ‘We Never Made It To Glasgow’.

Lexie dives into darker topics such as her struggle with anorexia on ‘If You Were A Ghost’. Lexie shares the following about this haunting track:

“It does feel like a ghost in my brain that’s a completely separate entity from me but every once in a while likes to pipe up.”

Closing track ‘Florist’ is dedicated to a friend lost too soon, imagining the life the friend would have lived.

you look lovely when you’re living is an EP that inspires reflection on all moments, no matter how big or small.
