The smell: salty Mediterranean sea. The taste: ice-cold sangria. The sound: ‘Don’t Change’ by Los Bitchos. The vibrant four-piece has teased us with another banger from their upcoming second album Talkie Talkie. With a signature quirky rhythm and layers upon layers of global influences, ‘Don’t Change’ is the perfect soundtrack to all of summer’s escapades.

Los Bitchos are Australian-Turkish guitarist Serra, Swedish bassist Josefine, British drummer Nic, and Uruguayan Agustina who plays synth and keytar. Over their five years as a band, they have become renowned on the circuit for their lyric-less but never lacking instrumentals, blending cumbia, funk, new wave, and Turkish psych. Released on indie label City Slang, ‘Don’t Change’ adheres firmly to their well-established vibe, with the plucky rhythm guitar of ‘Pista (Fresh Start)’ and the synthy, sunny atmosphere of ‘Las Panteras’. The band themselves describe it as:

“a pure bliss track; think holiday vibes with ice creams, beach balls, sunsets and margaritas. It’s feel good, with sun soaked melodies, vibrant arpeggiator synth bass, and layers of percussion.”

Talkie Talkie, the album set in a fictional nightclub paradise, will be released on 30 August 2024. Los Bitchos will follow it up with a tour of the UK and Europe (get tickets here).
