Brighton-based bombshell Jopy is one to watch if her latest single ‘Head Hunter’s Pub and Grub’ is anything to go by. Written, performed, mixed and produced entirely by Jopy herself, the track is nothing short of an alternative queer masterpiece – think Rocky Horror gone cannibal-punk. The story it tells is dark, chaotic fun for your inner sociopath, yet the exhilarating joy of found family shines through with every beat (side note, a dark comedy series based on this song needs to happen!)

“Head Hunters…’ is about a group of people whose life choices are so far out of the ordinary and yet they have built their own space with its own customs and culture. A big inspiration was The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Some people watch it and think “wow what a fun, wacky film”. However, I think if you’ve ever been rejected by mainstream society and found community in people who’ve been through the same, then The Rocky Horror Picture Show becomes so much more. I hope Head Hunters is able to tap into a similar feeling and give weirdos like me an escape and put a smile on our faces, even if only for a few minutes.” – Jopy

If, like me, you smiled all the way through Head Hunter’s Pub and Grub, make sure you keep up to date with everything Jopy on:
