Brighton based alt-pop duo COWZ are back with a new single, ‘Rosalie‘, and it’s our #singleoftheweek!
The song takes inspiration from a Twilight character, with Tasha explaining:
“Myself and Saga are obsessed with the Twilight series, and particularly love the storyline of Rosalie, a vampire who seeks revenge on those who abused her when she was once human.”
Sound-wise, Rosalie sees the duo expanding their twisted bubblegum pop sound. It starts out sounding like something that could fit into Grimes’ Visions album, before morphing into a layered, dance-worthy masterpiece, combining elements of hyperpop, punk, and things I’m probably not cool enough to know about. The end product is a song you can’t help playing over and over.
This track, along with the bands previous three singles, will all feature on their debut EP That’s Cute! Baby, released next month.
