Indianapolis-based trio Wife Patrol welcome the festive season with their grungy Christmas track, ‘Christmas ’96.’
Traditional festive elements, such as bells and references to snow and togetherness, are mixed with heavy guitars and a darkness that resembles candles illuminating a gothic room. The overall effect feels fresh and fun.
Wife Patrol released their debut album, Too Prickly For This World, in September 2020. ’Christmas 96’ follows the same style, without replacing the rock elements with festive cheesiness, and is described by the group as “a DIY audio Christmas card of sorts” in order to say thanks for the support received over the past few years.
Happy holidays!
