The mighty Liv Wynter – trans and working class artist and activist – has a stonking new solo EP out, VIOLENCE. Celebrating “revolutionary practices and future”, there’s rage, love, euphoria, sex and outright fire captured in these exquisite three tracks: Housework, Fist, and VIOLENCE.
“through revolutionary violence and love, everything can be ours; and what isn’t ours we can build ourselves”
Liv Wynter
The EP opens with ‘Housework’, recounting Liv’s experience of “community and family and coming into their own”.
‘Fist’ is just as raunchy as you’d hope – and I’m still blushing from Liv’s performance of this sexy AF song at the Victoria supporting Yakkie back in Sept. Co-written with Asher Mclaughlin, Liv says this is “a trans love song dedicated to.. well.. you guessed it”.
Title track ‘VIOLENCE’ comes with a stunning video.
“dead name on my ID, so good luck trying to find me”
