While I’m not usually a fan of metal mixed with “pop”, Knife Bride, this self-described “Nu-Gothika” quartet hailing from my own town, Brighton, are definitely worth giving some attention.
Sounding like a mix of early Spiritbox and late Bring Me the Horizon with a very polished production, their latest single, ‘sacrifice/surrender’ is a heady mix of punchy-pop vocals, aggressive riffs and very tasteful rhythmic instrumental sections.
The band are launching the full EP ‘don’t dream too much’ in London at Blondies on the 1st of September and – guess what? – the show is free! So go along show your support and witness these excellent musicians before they become the next biggest thing. It appears that the Nu-Metal scene is making a come-back and Knife Bride should be at the top of this wave.
