Witches, mermaids and twisted fairy-tales abound in the video for London-based A VOID’s latest single ‘5102’. This last release before the band’s much-anticipated second album is a powerful lament. Softer verses of quiet desperation bleed into more manic emotions, building steadily until the explosion of feelings in the final chorus.
“The track’s mysterious name is ‘2015’ backwards: the year it was written, long before it was recorded. It’s about womanhood, using the metaphor of witches who have been stripped of their powers and their magic.”
Camille Alexander, lead singer
A VOID always bring their A-game to music videos and 5102 is no exception. Hidden meanings, a beautiful coastline and some impressive underwater acting – what’s not to love?
