Today’s video of the day comes from Dublin indie band Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra (Sarah Deegan and Danni Nolan): ‘Empty Envelope’.
From the opening instrumentals and first line sung, this instantly grabs your attention. Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra sound like The Cranberries with a hazy gloss of shoegaze and grunge undertones.
‘Empty Envelope’ was inspired by a dream Sarah Deegan (songwriter/guitarist) had about receiving an empty letter. The track analyzes fiery bad decisions and the aftermath of rebuilding on ashes.
The video was shot and edited by Irish artist Hollie Gilson and is the perfect match for Pixie Cut Orchestra Rhythm Orchestra’s strong storytelling.
The band is currently working on their debut album (out September 2022 on Anon Records).
