It is impossible not to love this track by Malcolm Forbes Birthday Party (of Australia). This kind of synth sound is not my usual go to (and indeed being male they are NOT a LOUD WOMEN band for obvious reasons!) but the vocals from Hallie Tait (usually more folk) is what sold it to me – reminding me of something between Courtney Barnett and Poly Styrene.

That and the fact that Hallie also helped to write, perform, record and mix the track. ‘Heppy’ is innovative and infectious in the way that Daft Punk can be and as such is bound to bring joy to your day.

As the lyrics say – Moderation in moderation. It’s good advice!

I am formerly of 90s cult band Rosa Mota (and since then 1 half of Crown Estate) and now have my own band, I am HER. I also run the Loud Women on Sea shows at the Piper, St Leonards (Hastings) and sometimes write for Loud Women too.
