Out now, a collaboration from Bristol’s Beefywink and Erotic Secrets of Pompeii: ‘And Then They Dug Our Graves’ is a gloriously dramatic piece of thundering political art punk.

“switches on a knife’s edge, from clamorous mob anthem to outright brutal verbal assault. Saturated in chaos and backed by a driving industrial beat, ESOP’s squalid sonic squall is adorned with Beefywink’s vehement, urgent polemic lyrical assault. A reaction to the ineffectual efforts of the police and government in response to the constant fear in which people live on a nightly basis when walking home alone.

The song is a battle cry in support of those who have ever felt threatened and unprotected by the status quo – female, trans, non-binary, male, and anyone who has faced injustice no matter race, sexuality or gender. As the song implores, “Who makes our streets safe?”
