“My friend Kenny Becker and I recorded this in our apartments in LA on a four track cassette recorder (like Elliott Smith used). I’ve always loved the raw, DIY quality of some of his recordings…on Either/Or he recorded most of the record in houses around Portland (nicknamed The Heatmiser House after his band of the same name). The lovely Jen Simone plays violin on it (she also played with Elliott’s band Heatmiser back in the day).”
