Out today from Ivy Rose, hauntingly beautiful pop song ‘I’ve Been Watching You’ is the most 80s we’ve heard since the 80s.
Ivy Rose recently signed with Lab78 — a label founded by PNAU’s Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes who have worked with Elton John, Karen O, Ellie Goulding, and more — for her debut EP. Littlemore discovered Rose from his wife’s chance click on her captivating YouTube covers of Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, and Mazzy Star, and he was “struck by her melancholy and the deep loneliness in her eyes.”
The first single from the set, ‘I’ve Been Watching You’ was co-written with Littlemore and Donnie Sloan (Empire of the Sun, Swedish House Mafia). Rose says she wants listeners “to feel the real pain and feelings that are behind my voice”.
