Bad Bad Hats release 4th LP and head off on a UK tour

Minneapolis indierockers Bad Bad Hats just released their self-titled fourth LP via Don Giovanni Records, and are set to hit the UK on tour.

For over a decade, Kerry Alexander (Guitar/vocalist) & Chris Hodge (Guitar/bass), have worked together on the indie rock band Bad Bad Hats.

Their first album was demoed using GarageBand beats, and with this fourth LP Kerry Alexander was able to revisit her old musical roots. In hit single off the album, ‘Bored in the Summer,’ listeners can hear the the band’s trademarked catchy notes as they sing about a sticky situation.

“And it’s not for you to understand,
why I’m always singing backup in my own damn band,
I’m just a fool who doesn’t know how to say,
was your heart ever going my way?”

When asked about how recording ‘Bored in The Summer,’ felt Kerry said,

“[it] It was gratifying to know I could still do it. We kept some of my GarageBand keyboard parts for the final version, but we amped up the arrangement with Chris and Con’s energetic bass and drum parts and the addition of a key change. It brings a certain levity to the chorus that we love.”

Kerry’s voice douses my favorite song off the album, ‘TPA’, in vacation vibes.

The synchronized paddling was hilarious and truly shows that Bad Bad Hats enjoys not only fun lyrics, but fun music videos.

“Let life in and be sure to make space,
Take a piece from your face,
it can all be replaced.”
