Helsinki-based band Hauntees has released their first single, ‘All Over Again’, from their upcoming debut album, Shadows Forming. A blend of post-punk and goth, the song introduces the group to audiences of both genres with quiet intent.
We want to reach toward other worlds with our music, beyond everyday reality. When we write songs, we describe them to each other through places, films, and moods.

While the band is relatively new, the members have been in the scene for a while, having been in bands such as Patsy Walkers, Borderline, Charm Bags, Goo-Hags, and Lariots. This foundation is perfectly translated, making the track feel like a final product rather than a first draft for a new band. This isn’t by mistake. The band takes pride in creating not just a story, but a feeling, a scene, and an entire production within the confines of a 4-minute track.
The song delves into the roots of garage rock and highlights the best parts while allowing it to grow beyond the genre. The pre-chorus features a punchy chant that invites listeners to join in, even on first listen. Later in the song, you experience the group’s true musicality as they let the synths, bass, and drums drive the story. The result is a moody track that transports you to the blue-toned backdrop of a film set in the Pacific Northwest of the United States or the icy sidewalks of Helsinki. A description that the band wholeheartedly accepts as a compliment.
It’s interesting that listeners experience our music this way too. We’ve received comments at shows that we sound like the jukebox in the Twin Peaks bar, a foggy forest path, or music that should be played on a road trip across the desert
