Swedish indie artist Mi Von Ahn releases stunning new album Delta Veins.

The album takes its title from the natural landscape of the Rapaätno delta in Sarek, northern Sweden, where water finds new paths and transforms the landscape over time. That constant push and pull of the elements runs throughout Delta Veins, a moody, multidimensional work of indie rock with elements of shoegaze and trip-hop.

The album is also transformative in its creation, marking the first time Von Ahn has written across multiple languages, moving between English, Swedish and passages in Sámi. Across its songs, she considers change, identity, relationships and the climate crisis, reflecting on the ways we adapt, resist and find ourselves changed by the world around us.

Opening track ‘Closer’ sets the tone with a rush of emotion, exploring the paralysis of standing close to a crisis and still failing to act. Von Ahn shares:

“The core of the song is standing so close to the burning crisis — personal or global — yet still not acting, even though you know better. You’re aware, but the movement never comes. It’s about staying in something you know is unsustainable, perhaps because the closeness feels safer than the unknown waiting on the other side of letting go.”

Delta Veins is a powerful reflection on change, both in ourselves and in the world around us. With waves of melancholy and atmospheric indie rock, Von Ahn creates a transformative listening experience that stays with you.
