Nottingham-based folk, Americana artist Emily Ashberry has released a sapphic love ballad for the ages on her latest single, ‘The Bee Charmer’.
Inspired by Fannie Flagg’s novel, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, set in 1920s Georgia, ‘The Bee Charmer’ mirrors the love and relationship of the main characters, Idgie and Ruth. As the lyrics serve as the pining of Idgie, the song is laden with charismatic banjo and violin that perfectly pair with the story. Captivating and ideal for Fried Green Tomatoes fans or suckers for love songs, ‘The Bee Charmer’ pulls you into the heart of their tale. Tender and passionate, this is THE song Idgie would serenade Ruth with at the river club if she could.
