BERENICE, the moniker of Italian singer-songwriter Matilde Liboni, shares new single ‘Everybody Loves Italian Girls’.
A catchy and infectious anthem celebrating female friendship, confidence, and self-worth, ‘Everybody Loves Italian Girls’ is a bold call to embrace who you are unapologetically.
“The bridge is exactly the advice I would give to my 15-year-old self. Me and my friends were loud, expressive, emotional, and growing up in Northern Italy, there was always this expectation to be subtle, feminine, chic, and composed. We always felt too big, too bold, too much. For a long time, it felt like we were being squeezed into a box that was never really made for us. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self not to shrink just to fit someone else’s idea of what a girl should be.

When I moved to London five years ago, I wish I’d had a tenner for every time me or my friends heard ‘I love Italian girls’ as a chat-up line. With the song, I wanted to flip that expression on its head to reclaim it. Instead of being objectified by it, I wanted to use it to celebrate my girls: their confidence, their chaos, their beauty, their strength, and everything that makes them unforgettable.”
