South African darkwave artist, Hunter As a Horse, alchemizes ash to rise again in her latest transformative single, ‘Paradise Lost’ via Metropolis Records.

Decadently dark and self-empowering, ‘Paradise Lost’ is a track that’ll boost, and caution, goths and normies the world over. Catalysing soul fractures into realignment, Hunter As a Horse casts tendrils of self-love forth while slipping into the climactic haze of a dimly lit, internal echo chamber.

“This song is about accepting the loss of innocence and surrendering in order to become who I was always afraid to be. It is about reaching a state of delusional self-absorption where I no longer notice what others think or say, and am solely directed by my shadow self. It’s about the power in fearless self-expression, celebrating the dark and painful things that formed my foundations.”

– Hunter As a Horse musician and vocalist, Mia van Wyk

With punching instrumentation and van Wyk’s assured, velutinous vocals, ‘Paradise Lost’ ensnares our thorny origins and brings them to heel. Weaving melodies that transmute and pull you to the dancefloor, Hunter As a Horse conjures synthwave unlike any other.
