London art-rock band Modern Woman share new single ‘Neptune Girl’, the latest preview of their debut album Johnny’s Dreamworld, out 1 May via One Little Independent Records.
Fronted by primary songwriter Sophie Harris, the band also features violinist and composer David Denyer, Juan Brint-Gutiérrez on bass and saxophone, and Adam Blackhurst on drums.
On ‘Neptune Girl’, morality is explored through the lens of childhood, blending innocence with existential reflection. The single is accompanied by a video directed by award-winning animator Joseph Brett.
“This was built off an image of growing up in England, playing in the roads and fields with a friend who later went up to heaven. Heaven is, I imagine, somewhere near Neptune.”
