The new single ‘Scorpio’ by Yorkshire born artists, Sirene is a powerful track, filled with raw emotion, put across with both lyrical and incredible vocal depth and clarity. Sirene references ‘Scorpio’ sinking in her lyrics, however to me, this track feels like Scorpio rising.
I could listen to this track over and over again, the composition is fantastic. Sirene’s vocals and lyrics pull you in slowly, like the tide gently but surely pulling you from the shore, then before you know it its like a crashing wave of emotion and power that surrounds you, building momentum and becoming a whole body experience.
The tracks lyrics discuss the duality of being a Scorpio, the bright and ambitious mind, the tumultuous emotional depths, the great desire to do good in the world and yet the feeling of being pulled down by the weight of emotion and responsibility that comes with that desire.
The music so perfectly matches the lyrical content, really conveying just as much of the emotion, sensation and story as the lyrics. Sirene’s vocals are reminiscent of London Grammar, with incredible range and a unique and unforgettable quality.
This track truly makes you feel the essence of Scorpio, giving you a true sense of the raw power and emotional depth carried within people who live beneath this sign. While it’s a song that I feel fully embodies what it feels like to be a Scorpio, it holds within it something that everyone who feels deeply can connect to.
Definitely one of my favourites and an absolute ‘must listen’. Do yourself the favour of diving in.
