Chatsworth, CA singer-songwriter Sedona recently released her debut album Getting Into Heaven. On her debut, Sedona explores themes of love, sex, and self-actualization. Navigating girlhood, womanhood, and life with self-described ‘pageant rock’ and country-tinged pop-rock, Getting Into Heaven radiates an unforgettable warmth.

Sedona answered a few questions for LOUD WOMEN while on tour supporting Goldie Boutilier. Check out the interview below!

1. Share the inspiration behind Getting Into Heaven
Fast moving clouds, horses grazing in the grass, cigarettes in the summer, strawberry milkshakes, a very cold swimming pool, birds on telephone wires, peeling an orange, a first kiss, the last kiss, candles burning in the bathtub, freeway veins overlaid, a baby deer, dirty feet, serendipity.

2. Describe your writing process:
Early mornings, late nights, sometimes alone, usually with good company.

3. What is your favourite track from Getting Into Heaven?
Today it’s ‘Kissing Spree’.

4. Who are your favourite artists at the moment?
The Uni Boys, Twinkle, Liz Phair, The Humblebums

5. What’s next for Sedona?
More writing, more recording, more playtime!
