London-based singer-songwriter Gemma Rogers is back with a bang releasing her first single of 2025, ‘Molly_1989’, taken from her as yet unnamed and hotly anticipated second album. Rogers contrasts defiant lyrics with melodic flights of fancy to present an unflinching but uplifting experience.  ‘Molly_1989’ submerges the listener in a soundscape evocative of Lush, Sleeper and Amyl and the Sniffers. Rogers confronts the dilemma of modern dating, where the illusion of our online lives threatens to derail reality and she does it in a way that will have you dancing til dawn.

‘Molly_1989’ will receive its exclusive first play from Steve Lamacq on Monday 2nd June on BBC 6Music – and will be released on all streaming platforms from 7 pm local time.
