Toronto artist Housewife (Brighid Fry) recently released her latest EP, Girl Of The Hour via Submarine Cat Records.
Housewife evolved into a solo project in 2022, creating unforgettable indie-pop earworms. Over the years, Housewife has matured as an artist and discovered herself along the way.
Housewife’s Girl Of The Hour pulls inspiration from her experiences ranging from having a crush on a friend and dealing with burnout. Housewife explores her neurodivergence (her recent diagnosis as autistic), gender, and sexuality. While tackling heavy topics, Housewife isn’t a total downer on Girl Of The Hour. Housewife created an EP that’s still playful and light through all obstacles.
“Some people say that this music is political or it has very strong messaging and I think that’s great. But really for me, it’s just a way to process life.”
