If you’ve not been blasted in the face by Baby Said’s high-energy alt rock yet, now’s your chance. Portsmouth sisters Veronica and Jess Pal have been tearing up stages across the UK, and their debut album BS just landed – packed with big riffs, bigger attitude, and enough hooks to keep your head banging for days.
We saw them blow the roof off the LOUD WOMEN stage at Rebellion Festival 2024, then do it all over again at LOUD WOMEN Fest in London – and now they’ve channelled all that raw, high-voltage energy into an album that demands to be played loud.
From the stomping opener Mean Girlz – a fiery takedown of every queen bee who ever gave you grief – to the unstoppable Dead To Me, BS is full of shout-along, mosh-ready anthems. And the Dead To Me video? Instant classic. The sisters fake-kidnap and bury each other (normal sibling behaviour), filmed in a derelict pub and on a freezing beach at -3°C. DIY, chaotic, and effortlessly cool – just like Baby Said.
Recorded with Patch Boshell and Steven Battelle, BS keeps things raw and real, with no over-polishing – just the sound of a band who’ve cut their teeth on 250+ gigs and know exactly how to make a glorious racket.
No frills, no filler – just a killer debut album from one of the UK’s most exciting new alt rock bands.
