Out today from transatlantic indiepop duo Prima Queen, ‘The Prize’ is a shimmering taste of their forthcoming album of the same name, slated for 25 April on supercool Submarine Cat Records.
The band is pals Louise Macphail and Kristin McFadden, and the album promises “a love letter to the radical power of friendship” – we are totally here for that! They say:
“Writing ‘The Prize’ felt kind of magical – we thought we had finished the album but this song suddenly came to us while we were writing in the studio with our producer Steph (Marziano) and we knew it had to be the album title-track. It felt like it tied all the other songs together in a really special way. It’s a song to remind you that YOU’RE THE PRIZE which is easy to forget sometimes!”
