Bostonian band Neverless.am has gone through some changes over the last few years. Formally known as Lurid Purple Flowers, C.A. Newcomb’s band has transitioned from an alt-rock sound to a heavy shoegaze/Psych sound. With a new album due early next year, it was decided the name change was necessary for a reset.

‘Will I Ever?’ details vocalist Newcomb’s hospitalization and recovery after being hit by a drunk driver. The single’s artwork shows a car bearing down on the viewer.

“Unfortunately, I was run over by a drunk driver and struggled with PTSD,” Newcomb reveals. “I was pissed, emotional, tired, and scared at the same time. Ben shared a demo he had been working on and the chords just hit different. We wrote it together in one night.”

‘Will I Ever?’ has a tidal grunge, meets shoegaze, meets hardcore sound similar to bands like Hum, Nothing and Mannequin Pussy. It’s an intense listen.
