After a couple of years establishing herself in Liverpool, kicking up at gigs, and building a repertoire, Tender Claws is gracing the grunge rock world with throaty vocals and gritty lyrics with the release of ‘Anglerfish’.

“Although I’m new to the scene with my first single […] I’m really excited to have something tangible to show the world.”

The single was first written during the height of the pandemic and features this eerie discernment towards gothic sensibilities, dichotomised with the opposing features of savagery and beauty in nature.

‘Anglerfish’ is evidence of her inspirations of the likes of Nirvana, Pixies, and Queens of the Stone Age with hauntingly beautiful and dark tonalities. Tender Claws brings a strong sense of 80’s and 90’s grunge revival with introspective lyrics and distorted electric guitar.

Recorded mostly in WhatStudio in Liverpool with Ste Cole, mixed by Alex Headen, and mastered by Graeme Lynch, ‘Anglerfish’ gives an exciting insight into the future for Tender Claws from this breakthrough track.
