Katie MF’s latest single ‘Confidence Crisis’ is the rock ballad you didn’t know you needed.

Coming from the punk scene, with a hidden country heart, and stuck inside her flat during lockdown, Katie took the time to demo everything that had been going on in her head and released her debut LP False Starts, Open Endings.

What she found was a little solace for all of us.

Katie MF has been playing for years in the London scene (more than 200 shows !) and has already released 2 EPs: Learning how to lie and Everything trouble meant. Her music draws inspiration from everyday life, relationships, and politics, and ‘Confidence Crisis’ is the perfect blend of all these ingredients.

The song reflects very well the seamless fusion she creates between her engaged storytelling often associated with folk and her punk rock sensibility and voice. ‘Confidence Crisis’ is a song that encourages us to cut ourselves some slack and, through Katie’s catharsis and doubts, find a common ground to rekindle hope.

Sure, ‘Confidence Crisis’ is not a blazing rebellion, but it stands for everyday resistance, and sometimes, that’s where the true struggle lies.
