Indie pop duo Fake Dad (Andrea de Varona & Josh Ford) released their latest single, ‘So Dramatic!’ – a look into Fake Dad’s forthcoming EP, Yerba Mala, due for release this October.
‘So Dramatic’ is an alt-pop track where spoken-word bilingual lyrics flow within the song. Lead vocalist Andrea is a first-generation Cuban American and fluent in Spanish as her first language. ‘So Dramatic’ is elevated with Miami Spanglish. ‘So Dramatic’ is an anthem where one can celebrate their individuality.
“Being bilingual and not fully Spanish was very intentional because we’re trying to capture the identity and existing duality of being a Hispanic person in America who may have grown up speaking primarily one language at home but largely another in the outside world.”
