Zimbabwean-born / British-raised rising indie pop singer Sol Child released her debut EP, Spring’s Dawn. This EP takes you on a journey from an unhealed ego to healed ego that’s still learning and growing.

Sol Child has a wide range of influences from Shakka, Ed Sheeran, daydream Masi, Arlo Parks, Micheal Jackson and Beyoncé to list off a few. Her musical awakening came from Shakka’s The Lost Boys EP. Early 2000s Brit Pop is also an inspiration and can be heard throughout Sol Child’s music.

“I didn’t set out to actually create an EP, I was just writing a bunch of songs and realised that they all talked about the triggers I had stumbled across whilst doing shadow work. This isn’t to say that I’ve dealt with them to the point that they no longer trigger me but more on the basis that I have now learnt healthier ways to live with them. Everyone always talks about how your childhood influences who you are, so you automatically start to blame your parents for who you turned out to be, but you can only do that for so long. At some point you have to realise that as a 23+ year old adult you are now the person that shapes you, so if you are still doing the “bad” things that you learnt to do as a child with the knowledge of where they came from then it’s on you; if you are not even trying to work on it.”
