Liverpool-based indie artist Tilly Louise recently released her debut EP, Join the Club. This four-track debut is full of passion and endless potential.
This EP is also very personal to Tilly Louise: from the vulnerable lyrics, to friends and family helping create Join the Club. Tilly Louise’s mum created the cover artwork, and friends helped with the production and recording.
Title track ‘Join the Club’ sets the vibrant mood of the EP and Tilly Louise gives it her all. The song is fun, energetic, and unforgettable.
‘Baggy T-Shirt’ is a youthful song about a love that’s simple yet it’s everything at the same time. This fresh track comes with an impressive guitar solo.
‘Own Worst Critic’ is the most recent single from Join the Club. The fun vibes continue but Tilly Louise is vulnerable and honest about her self critical mindset.
Closing track ‘Make Me a Robot’ is another vulnerable track where Tilly Lousie ponders if it’s just easier to not have emotions, like a robot.
“This song has to be my favourite to date. It’s the most honest I’ve been in my writing. When it comes to love, I’ve always felt I am never enough, and to write that down and then sing it aloud at shows has been something I’ve had to grow into, but I have felt that it has really resonated with those that have heard it live in a set, so maybe I’m not alone in the club looking for validation.”
