Chicago-based dream-pop artist Leezy released her latest single, ‘Cocaine Kisses’.
Leezy’s battle with depression and addiction led to admitting herself to treatment. Sober at 19 and now at 21, still sober, and creating heart wrenching music.
Just like her last single, ‘Sierra’, there’s a haunting quality to Leezy’s vocals on ‘Cocaine Kisses’. ‘Cocaine Kisses’ is about the romanticization of drug use and how addiction is like falling in love with the wrong person.
Leezy shares the following about ‘Cocaine Kisses’:
“It’s about how I used to associate a certain drug-induced experience with a person or relationship. I was able to ignore a lot of red flags because of how good it felt to be high in the moment.”
