The Pearl Harts: Pullin’ My Brains Out – video premiere

An exclusive video premiere from the so-hot-right-now Pearl Harts. The rollicking earworm ‘Pullin; My Brains Out’ is launched to celebrate the UK duo heading to Texas for the SXSW showcase.

The band describe ‘Pullin’ My Brains Out’ as “our song about anxiety”:

“We started with the working title “Earwigs”. There is the age-old tale that an earwig could crawl into a human ear and burrow into the brain, wreaking havoc. We decided to use this as a metaphor for anxiety and that’s how Pullin’ My Brains Out was born… There is an almost monotone feel to the track, repetitive drum stabs and chanting vocals – we wanted to create the musical equivalent of the thought loops, the inescapable feeling of anxiety which is part of the human experience. Lyrically we tried to approach the song with an element of dark humour, personifying the anxiety, as an unwanted lover, a flesh-eating zombie and the white noise of an old TV.”

introducing: The Pearl Harts

The Pearl Hearts‘ Kirsty and Sara met on the road, decided to form a band and then launched to the world a stunning filmed live session of their first song ‘Black Blood’. Their incredible live show has found them as an in-demand warm-up act for Garbage, Stereophonics and now Skunk Anansie who they are currently on a 27-date European tour with.

Now The Pearl Harts present their new track ‘Hit the Bottle’, described in their press release as “an intense shot of in your-face attitude; snarling vocals, screeching guitar loops and insistent drums”.  According to the band, the track is about “trying not to give into your vices but you’realways doing it…. debauchery, having fun, playing shows…. giving into your dark side”.  It’s an awesome rock track with truly impressive guitar licks – giving you just a whiff of glove without falling foul of  metal.
