Loving this moodily beautiful earworm from RUEN, ‘What I Need’, complete with an awesome ‘urban sex ballet’ video – smashing.
RUEN, aka Rhiannon Mair, says of the track:
“The song is about the pushing and pulling of power plays that can happen in relationships along with feeling powerless and wanting something you know is bad for you. It’s also a little bit sexual – which was fun to write. It felt quite empowering as a woman to write something that expressed female sexual energy.”

“The song was inspired by being close to someone in an abusive relationship. Witnessing the negative cycle of going back again and again after being repeatedly hurt. It’s as if they were becoming addicted to the abusers bad behaviour.”
