(Yes I know, sorry, I missed another one yesterday – blame the capitalist patriarchy for taking up all the time and making me work when I’d rather be doing fun stuff like this! Anyway …)
It’s most definitely time to open window number 15 of the LOUD WOMEN Advent Galendar … and what’s that unmistakable screaming I hear?
Tegan Christmas in fact! And her band, The Ethical Debating Society! Hurray!
TEDS are a beloved part of the LOUD WOMEN family, with guitarist Kris (not pictured above – he’s too camera*-shy) as our very own New Music Editor, and Tegan is a key advisor to Team LOUD WOMEN.
Here’s just one reason to love TEDS at this time of year: they rewrote Chuck Berry’s christmas song Run Run Rudolf and made it a lot more punk, and a lot less sexist!
We can’t wait to see TEDS play on our stage again with our first gig in the new year: 20 January 2018 at the Amersham Arms, with Best Praxis, Personal Best and Dream Nails – unmissable, and exactly what we’ll need to shake off the new year blues!

Christmas is so close now you can almost touch its snowy nose! Time to open window number 13 of the LOUD WOMEN Advent Galendar …
and it’s Hurtling!
Indie rockers Hurtling are led by the goddess-like genius that is Jen Macro, an absolutely stunning guitarist, songwriter, and all-round awesome loud woman.
We’re dead chuffed that Hurtling are joining us for our Christmas party next week, 21 December at The Lexington.

Window number 12 of the LOUD WOMEN Advent Galendar is creaking open, and who’s that snooked up inside there?
Gaptooth – aka Hannah Lucy – is awesome! She wowed us at this year’s LOUD WOMEN Fest, not only by playing a brilliant punk pop set, but also creating artwork for the Fest poster, and helping out stewarding on the day. She’s a true DIY sister and we love her to bits!
We’re proud to have hosted her recent blog Stop asking female musicians for their stories of sexism in the music industry and premiers for her videos Terminal 4 and They Cut We Bleed . Can’t wait to see what this multi-talented superstar produces in 2018! Find her on Facebook
Time to open window number 11 of the LOUD WOMEN Advent Galendar – who could be behind it?
Indie popsters Fightmilk first came and played LOUD WOMEN back in 2016, in the basement of the Veg Bar in Brixton. Since then they’ve become firm favourites of ours – playing the first LOUD WOMEN Fest, contributing a track to our compilation album LOUD WOMEN: Volume One, and most recently joining Skinny Girl Diet and GUTTFULL at the launch of our new VERY LOUD WOMEN nights at The Lexington.
The band have had a cracking year – releasing their album Pity Party on Fierce Panda records, and playing relentlessly on all the stages all over the land. Find Fightmilk on Facebook and Bandcamp
(Yes OK we missed number 9 – a girl’s gotta have a day off sometimes, you know? Anyway …)
Who are those cheeky punks making a fuss behind window number 10 of the LOUD WOMEN Advent Galendar?
It’s only GUTTFULL!
GUTTFULL are very closely linked to LOUD WOMEN (ahem) so they get to play lots of our shows … however, this year has been an awesome year for these queercore sax punx far beyond the LOUD WOMEN stable – with an EP out, #NotAllMen, to rave reviews, and gigs and fests all over the land. Next year they have grander plans – an album and a summer UK/European tour. So. Much. Fun! Follow us, I mean, them on Facebook and Bandcamp, and catch them live at the LOUD WOMEN Christmas Party on 21 December at the Lexington.
‘Who’s that a-clattering behind window number 8 of the LOUD WOMEN Advent Galendar?
Who else but Pussy Liquor!
These Brighton 5-piece riot grrrls provided a roof-raising finale to this year’s LOUD WOMEN Fest. We want to see them play lots more please!
Their first release is out TODAY – a vinyl single called ‘7 Inch Wonder’. Grab yours here!
It’s time to open LOUD WOMEN Advent Galendar window number 7, and who’s that appearing in a swirl of dry ice and red chiffon …
Woah – it’s Ms. Mohammed!
The famazing Ms Mohammed played for us this summer when we teamed up with the Matchwomen Festival, and she dazzled us all with a stunning performance.
Her debut album ‘Alibi’ launched this autumn, given plenty of review love right here from Ful Shup of Turkey’s Secondhand Underpants.
Ms Mohammed has become a much loved friend and part of Team LOUD WOMEN. As such, she joined us when we recorded the pilot episode of the first ever LOUD WOMEN radio show for Women’s Radio Station – listen out for that big launch in the new year!
Find Ms. Mohammed on Bandcamp, her website, Twitter and Facebook
