Today’s video of the day comes from LA’s Maddie Jay. Undertow is some delicate but heartfelt lo-fi pop accompanied by a totally adorable stop animated video. Maddie tells us:

“Undertow was written about one of my relationships, where my partner struggled with anxiety and depression. I would often find myself getting sucked into his “undertow” and start feeling anxious and depressed myself. It was written, produced and recorded alone in quarantine, and was mastered by Grammy winning engineer Emily Lazare (HAIM, Maggie Rogers, Vampire Weekend.) The music video was also made by me in quarantine. I had the idea that I could use my household scanner to make a DIY stop motion animation film, and next thing I knew, I was 40 hours deep with only 10 seconds of footage to show for it. I hope you enjoy!”
